Does Retail Price Discount require Shopify Plus?

No. The platform works across Shopify plans. Shopify Plus is not required for the core promotion builders, dashboards, discount codes, storefront display or special discount workflows.

Can I calculate discounts from the compare-at price?

Yes. Where supported, you can choose whether a promotion is calculated from the current selling price or from the original compare-at price. This makes it possible to build campaigns around the real retail price instead of discounting an already reduced price.

What happens when a product already has a lower price?

The Best Price Wins logic protects the customer from receiving a worse promotional price than the price already available. The platform evaluates the eligible result and keeps the most advantageous price.

Can customers see the promotional price before checkout?

Yes. The Storefront Promotion Display can show the promotional price, compare-at price and campaign message directly on product pages before the customer reaches the cart or checkout.
